I’ve been naughty.

As naughty as a little b/w kitten. I’ve neglected my blog shamefully, and the truth is…
I’ve been unfaithful. With Twitter. It’s so quick, and easy, and so much fun. Also, I’m better at coming up with short little tweets than long blog posts!
In other news, I received a lovely feature from the superb Design Mom on the Cookie blog. Woo hoo!
And if you’re in the Portland OR area, I’ll be at the Holiday Show and Sale at The Art of Your Life Studio.
Saturday December 6
11AM-5PM
1210 SE Oak St.
Portland OR
Come by and say hi!
My naughty girl.

I just realized I never posted a picture of the kitten. This is Lyra:

She’s named after the Golden Compass character because she is brave and loyal, but naughty and impulsive.
We love her.
Two pretty baskets…

I applied to Trunkt and Lollishops and got accepted to both. I wasn’t sure if I would be a good fit for Lollishops, since a lot of what I do isn’t very froufrou, but I’m glad to be accepted because I think my vintage-inspired collages will fit in well.
And in the froufrou spirit, here’s Little Bo Peep.

How many baskets can I put my eggs in?

I love Etsy. Love it, love it, love it. But sales are slowing down due to everyone’s economy woes, so I’m looking for a few other venues.
As an experiment, I’ve been opening up shops and putting the same print in all of them. We’ll see where I get nibbles…
ShopHandmade
1000 Markets
DaWanda
(and, of course, Etsy)
Which print did I choose? An old favorite of mine- Lavender’s Blue.

Heads up!

I’ll be taking most of my original work to a big show this weekend, so if you’ve got your eye on something in this section, better think about snatching it up now!

Several years ago I took a tintype workshop at the Oregon College of Art and Craft. It was soo much fun, and I came away with some great images, like this one:

now available on Etsy.
I was walking with a ghost…

…and she told me to put together two images taken in my favorite cemetery- Lone Fir.

Print now available on Etsy.
In other news, I am contracting some work out for the first time this holiday season, in order to have cards and ornaments either better or more affordable than I can do myself. I’m working with local businesses recommended by other artists, which is great, but I’m having to learn whole new languages to communicate, and it’s hard! But since I don’t have my own laser cutter, I do what I gotta do.

Another new work:

I found this vintage wallpaper at Poppy & Ivy, and I knew I had to make a wreath out of it to surround a lovely face.
As always, available on Etsy.
